4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Effects and symptoms

Acute - Swallowed : May cause nausea and vomiting if ingested in quantity.

May cause gastroenteritis with abdominal pain. Systemic effects may

follow and may include ringing of the ears , dizziness, elevated blood pressure ,

blurred vision and tremors.

Acute- Eye : May cause irritation with symptoms of redness , swelling , itching, tearing

and pain.

Acute- Inhaled : May cause sensitisation by inhalation. May cause irritation to the respiratory

tract , coghing , shortness of breath , sore throat , runny nose.

Chronic Skin contact : Prolonged contact may cause skin irritation and possibly skin

sensitation.

First aid measures

Ingestion : Dring plenty of water. Rinse mouth with water.

seek immediate medical assistance.

Inhalation : Remove victim to fresh air. seek medical attention.

Skin contact : Wash off plenty of water – call a physician. Remove contaminated clothing

and wash before re-use. seek medical asssistance if effects persist.

Eye contact : Rinse immedietely with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

Flammability : Non- flammable. Burning to dryness may produce obnoxious fumes.

Suitable extinguishing media : water, water spay, dry power , foam , carbon dioxide.

Hexamethylenetetraamine ( Hexamine ) could decompose to formaldehyde, which

Personal precautions : Wear suitable PCV gloves and eye face protection . Feceshield is

appropriate. For footwear use rubber boots.

Environmental precautions : Do not let product enter drains.

Method of cleaning up: Contain and collect using suitable innert solid absorbent ( sand,

sawdust , bentonite , acid binder , silica gel ). Place into suitable container

disposal. Cleaning residuls . Flush away traces with plenty water .

Recommended storage temperature : 5 – 40 grad C . Not store under – 2-3 grad C –

less sensitive to freeze.
